We polished our pitch pine floor with Osmo Polyx oil (matt) a couple of years ago & then put a rug down over part of the floor. We have now replaced this with a smaller rug that shows a strip of lighter previously unexposed floor around its edges. We’re wondering if you could suggest something that we could clean the floor with to help remove the visible strip of previously unexposed floor?

You could try Osmo Wash & Care with warm water or eaven neat and then try Osmo Liquid Wax cleaner which is good for subborn stains etc. However it is also likely that the colour difference is not to do with dirt & cleaning but is in fact due to the natural colour change taking place as a result of light (UV light) hitting the floor and travelling through to the wood. There is no easy solution to this, in time the newly exposed area may change to a closer colour otherwise you may have to consider re-oiling and maybe even a light sanding.
