Installing wood floors in bathrooms

In most circumstances we would not recommend installing wood or laminate flooring in a bath or shower room because of the risk of moisture penetration into the floor.

That said, people do install wood floors in bathrooms without any problems - but this has to be at the customers' own risk.

If you decide to go this route we recommend that the best product to select would be one of our solidengineered wood flooring products. At 21mm thick, with 6mm top layer of real wood on a 15mm multiply base, there's minimal risk of problems because these are the most dimensional stable boards available.

Be careful of cheap engineered, solid and laminate boards, which are at risk of permanently swelling when in contact with excessive moisture.
