Stains
Description
Stains to the wood flooring surface or other forms of discoloration of the floorboard.
Possible causes
White spots are usually the result of water stains on waxed or hard wax oiled wood floors. Water spills from a slow but constant source can lead to mildew or other forms of surface mould growth, which can in time cause decay of the wood floor.
Remedial tips
First locate the source of the leak or dampness and fix it. Then allow it to dry out before re-applying protective wood finishing product as required. Also see our tips in Wood Flooring Renovation & Repair
