Ink stains

Penetrating stains or wax products
Rub wax into each white spot with fine steel wool. If the white spot is still visible then try sanding lightly with a very fine sandpaper and then clean with wood floor cleaner. Once dry, reapply the wax and buff to sheen level as required.

If this does not produce the desired result, then try soaking cotton with a small amount of household bleach or vinegar. Allow to dry before re-waxing and buffing to the desired level of sheen.

Lacquer or other surface finish
Use a urethane/lacquer wood flooring cleaner - and carefully remove stubborn stains with a urethane wood flooring scrub pad.
