Wax finishes

Wipe up spills immediately with a clean dry cloth and remove any white spots caused by stagnant water spills with fine steel wool and mineral spirit. Rub in a circular motion until the white spot disappears, then re-wax and buff it in.

When the floor loses its luster (particularly in heavy traffic areas) buff those areas with a polishing brush or pad. If this fails then re-wax those specific areas and buff it off.

After many years the floor may need to be sanded back to bare wood and then refinished in wax.
