Wood floorboard direction

Wood flooring can be laid in either direction, but for aesthetic reasons it is generally best to lay the floor boards towards the direction of the most natural light.

However, where the floorboards are being installed on top of existing wooden floor boards, it is recommended to lay them in the opposite direction, i.e. at 90 degrees.
