Renovation and repair

Scratches, stains and other damage to wood flooring are every homeowner's worse nightmare. But do not despair, it can be repaired - all you need is patience and sound advice.

To remove any form of stain or material deposit from any wood flooring, always work from the outside in, to reduce the stain gradually. Patience is the key to this sort of work.

Whenever possible always refer to the individual manufacturer's instructions for repairing, renovating and cleaning the wooden flooring. If in doubt use a Ph neutral wood floor cleaning product such as Osmo Wash & Care or the Osmo Maintenance Kit.

If the flooring was finished on site with a wood floor finishing product, you should refer to the finishing oil, wax or lacquer manufacturer's instructions.

Hence the exact remedy depends upon the type of surface or penetrative wood flooring finish that has been used to protect the wood floor from damage.
