About Solidengineered Wood Floors
With a Solidengineered wood floor you get all the plus points which both solid wood floors and engineered wood floors bring individually. Solidengineered wood floors are often the solution when consumers cannot decide between solid and engineered wood flooring.
Solidengineered wood floors, often called semi solid wood floors, are typically 20-21mm thick comprising of a 6mm top layer of hardwood and a 14-15mm base, which is usually multi-ply.
Not only does the generous 6mm top layer offer you a fantastic wear layer resulting in a floor for life, but because the boards are 20 to 21mm thick according to building regulations they are classed as structural floorboards and can go onto battens or joists directly.
Just like engineered wood floors, solid-engineered wood floors are ideal for use with underfloor heating systems. Some solidengineered wood floors are made with a 3 core base construction, but many are constructed from multiply bases of up to ten layers, each one running in the opposite direction making semi-solid engineered floors very strong and offer the best dimensional stability.
The finishes, textures, stains, and different species available to you when choosing a solid engineered wood floor are endless. Because of the structural make up of semi solid wood floors this allows the boards to come in a huge variety of widths including planks up to a foot wide, although you will not often find boards narrower than 148mm.
Venetian collection
The solid engineered wood floors in our Venetian collection are all 21mm thick and 189mm wide. They are all wonderfully constructed, and extremely structurally stable. The boards range in species, finish and colour stain, but are all excellent value.
Milanese contemporary

Colossus wide board
In our colossus range you will find a striking range of wide solidengineered wood floors. The oak floors range from 240-300mm wide, are all 21mm thick, and come in either an unfinished, oiled, or eco oiled finish.
Montane range
The Montane section contains 21mm solid engineered oak floors. They are all 189mm wide, and come in a range of finishes, but are all full of rustic charm and beauty.
Scottish Colour collection
The floors in the Scottish colour collection ooze character. They’re available in a selection of 3 different widths, and are all 21mm thick. All boards are wire brushed, and finished with the high quality easy care eco-oil. They come in a range of 14 different colour stains.
Exclusive & Designer
The solidengineered wood floors in our exclusive & designer section are beautifully crafted and designed, and very unique. The boards range in widths, and come in a variety of finishes including different stains, wire brushing, scraping, and bleaching resulting in some wonderfully original solidengineered wood floors.
