Posted in Wood Finishing by Source on July 2nd 2013
Osmo has over 100 years experience working with wood as a raw material and is one of the top producers of modern wooden products for both interior and exterior applications. Osmo is however the only producer of its kind which compliments the large product range with excellent natural wood finishes which are researched, developed and produced in house. Osmo for your wood Osmo’s product range contains garden / exterior woods (e.g. decking wood, screens, fences and garden houses etc.), timber cladding and solid wood panelling for walls and ceilings, solid wood flooring, multiply parquet, skirting, moulding and edge glued panels. High quality production standards for all products easily distinguish Osmo as a premium producer. The natural wood finishes from Osmo complete the range, perfectly trimmed for the woods needs the finishes are created from renewable resources based on purified natural oils and waxes. The oil penetrates deeply into the woods’ pores, which provides protection for the surface whilst retaining the natural character and optic. As apposed to a lacquer, Osmo finishes are not film forming but open porous finishes, the wood is still able to "breathe". Osmo finishes are not only friendly to the environment and safe for humans, animals and plants but also easy to apply. Osmo manages to hold the difficult balance between product functionality and environmental awareness. Osmo uses natural, purified oils (Sunflower-, Soya-, Linseed-, Thistle oil) and hard waxes (Carnauba and Candelilla) for the production of its natural wood finishes. The organic pigments used in Osmo finishes are based on purified natural ore which is refined until only a physiologically harmless, "clean" mineral pigment remains.
