Osmo Old Style Wood Flooring

Osmo Old Style Wood Flooring

Posted in Wood Flooring by Source on June 19th 2010
With house renovation a popular business, as well as a growing past time, Osmo’s solid wood flooring system – Old Style – is a sure favourite. This traditional style flooring is in contrast to the highly commercial modern flooring available on the market.

The Osmo Old Style wood flooring is a classic style of flooring which has been created to the highest of standards, with acute attention to detail, including the addition of antique style nails, if so desired. The solid wood flooring is available in five different surfaces – sanded, brushed, aged, sand blasted and hand planed and, combined with the variety of finishes available as well as the option for architectural metalwork, there’s an impressive 70 different variations for you to offer your clients. The Old Style 1-strip is bound to bring character to any room and could be used in the renovation of old buildings – the ‘aged’ style would particularly suit this. Alternatively, the ‘hand planed’ or ‘sand blasted’ strips could really work in a modern building to add a sense of classical design or a twist on the usual modern wooden floors.

If character is what you’re really after, all of the surfaces are available ‘nailed’ – small square old style nails are added to the wooden flooring, giving the end result a really rustic look – beautiful and useable in any setting, from a converted barn to a kitchen. As well as the selection of surfaces, there are seven colour finishes available from Osmo, which help add to the individuality and creativity of any design project. The finishes available are Osmo Polyx Oil clear, white, steel grey, antique light, antique dark, antique red-brown and smoked. The Old Style flooring isn’t just available in oak – larch wood is part of the Old Style collection.

It comes in the same surfaces as the oak, and can also be finished with any of the Polyx-Oil finishes. With all the choices available, every room in the house could be laid with Osmo’s Old Style, but look completely different. There could be oak ‘sanded’ boards finished in Polyx-Oil clear in the bathroom and ‘aged’ boards with nails, finished in the Polyx-Oil warm antique red-brown, in the living room.

Osmo’s solid wood flooring is a classic, the 1-strip system comes in a variety of hard and soft woods, with tongue and groove available all the way round. It is available in 15-28 mm thicknesses and can be provided untreated or, alternatively, can be pre-finished with Osmo Polyx-Oil – something many other wooden floor providers don’t offer.
