Click fit

As its name implies, click fit wood flooring is a flooring system that allows for easy installation of floorboards. Click fit wood flooring can be installed by fitting and clicking the boards together like a jigsaw puzzle. When the floorboards are joined together, the flooring becomes resistant to any liquid or form of moisture from penetrating into the floorboards.

The great advantage of click fit wood flooring is that it does not require any adhesive or nails. That is why click fit wood flooring is a popular choice for DIY projects. However, in order to achieve the full benefits of click fit flooring, you have to make sure that it is laid down as a floating floor - that is, a floor that doesn't need to be glued or nailed to the subfloor.

Click fit wood flooring installation
When click fit flooring has been installed, each floorboard is assumed to be tightly connected the whole time, leaving no gaps. The combined flooring system will then contract or expand together to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity.

Another benefit of click fit wood flooring is that once the pieces have been joined and clicked together, there is still a chance to unclick it and lift a piece up, should you need to check something under the floor. As this is the case, it is highly recommended that with click fit wood flooring, a high quality underlay must be used in order to preserve the life of the floorboards.
